Jack and Diane get to the office. Jack says Victor is still playing cagey and hasn’t fully agreed to work with him, but he has something up his sleeve!

Diane asks him to proceed with caution; she doesn’t want their temporary partnership to blow up in their faces!

Jack says he doesn’t trust Victor, and the reason he showed up last night was to make sure Jack didn’t talk to Jill without him. He says Jill is back in town, but she dropped in on Cane first, and Billy was there.

Diane asks what Jill had to say about Cane’s plans to destroy businesses in town.

Jack says he’s not sure… Billy wasn’t very forthcoming, but he and Victor have determined the best way to proceed is to divide and conquer by talking to Jill separately. He never had any intention of bringing Victor to meet Jill, anyhow!

Diane doesn’t like it.

Jack knows she’s scared, but she doesn’t have to worry. Jill and Billy may have their problems, but he thinks they’ll come together. He knows that Jill loved John, and she still carries the Abbott name. No matter how much Jill loves Cane, she won’t let him destroy Jabot or Chancellor!

Diane hopes this will end soon. She says she was supposed to meet Kyle, but he hasn’t shown up; he must have forgotten. She says Kyle has been depressed lately.

Jack says that Kyle made his own bed, and now he has to sleep in it.

Diane is surprised Jack can be so cold about their son.

Jack says he’s being realistic. Coddling Kyle isn’t the way to go. They’ve taught Kyle that lessons of the heart are often the hardest.

Diane says she’s a mother, and she hates the tough-love approach. Maybe they’re making it worse by being tough. She worries that Kyle will take out his anger on Audra and Holden.

Jack hopes Kyle can control his “impulses.”

Kyle walks into the offices and pours himself a coffee.

Diane asks how he is. He didn’t seem himself this morning.

Kyle says he’s back on his feet… He’s ready to fight!

Jack hopes he really is okay. He was pretty upset about the breakup yesterday!

Kyle says he’s made a decision; he’s not going to wait around to see what happens with Claire and Holden. He’s going to LA and will do whatever it takes to win Claire back!
